I’ve been meeting incredible people during the last 15 years or traveling, in events and meetups , and I’ve noticed that it’s the best way to grow your business.

The more people you know, the more options you have in life.

1. Networking is all about connecting with people who can help you grow your business

Networking is all about connecting with people who can help you grow your business.

It’s not just a sales call, it’s not just job hunting, and it’s definitely not an excuse to crawl out from under your rock once a month (although you should do that too). Networking is about building relationships and finding opportunities through those connections.

2. Networking is an opportunity to learn, but also to teach.

The world is full of smart people. And they’re all looking to connect with other smart people. Networking is not just an opportunity to learn, it’s also one to teach.

The best way to learn is by teaching. You can find yourself feeling like you are on top of the world when someone comes up to you and says, “I really liked what you said during that presentation!” It feels good to know that your message resonated with someone else—but it feels even better when that person asks for help or advice in return.

3. Many of the best opportunities come from the people you know.

In my experience, networking with other people is one of the best ways to grow your business. Many of the best opportunities come from the people you know. You can find new clients through networking; you can find new employees through networking; and if you’re looking for investors or other advisors, there is no better place than a networking event where everyone is looking to do business with someone else.

4. Networking helps you make lasting friends, not just business contacts.

Don’t forget, networking is about more than just business. It’s about finding people you can connect with, build relationships with and help each other. Don’t go into networking meetings with a list of questions to ask or problems to solve—go in ready to listen and learn from them. You never know when you’ll need their advice or opinion on something completely different from your industry!

5. The more people you know, the more options you have in life.

People you know can help you in many ways. For example, if you need a job or a loan, they may be able to give you information and advice that will help you get what you want. They might also have information about new opportunities that are not available through your current network of contacts. Finally, people who are not in the same industry as yours may have insights for growing your business by expanding its reach into areas outside of what is currently familiar territory for both parties involved. In short: make sure that there are no doors left open at any time during networking events!

When I was younger I thought my network would expand as fast as I grew older but as time went on this proved untrue; instead it became clear that my circle of friends only expanded so much before reaching maximum capacity (which happens around age 30).

6. Don’t wait until a need arises to start networking!

Don’t wait until a need arises to start networking!

It’s important that you have a networking strategy in place before you go out and start meeting people. You can’t just wait for the perfect time, because that time never comes. Instead, think about how you can build relationships with people so that when they need something from you, they’ll think of YOU first.

Conclusion

We hope that you are inspired to go out and network. Remember, though, that the most important thing is to be yourself. If you meet someone who seems like a great match for your business, remember not to be pushy or aggressive—just ask questions and let things happen organically. And if they don’t happen organically? That’s okay too! Sometimes it takes time (and lots of patience) before your dream contact becomes available—so just keep doing what got them interested in the first place: showing them what makes you awesome! While there are no guarantees when it comes to networking success (like any other business venture), it’s worth trying because it can lead us closer towards our goals if done right.”
