1. REMOTE WORK
Remote workers are on the payroll of a company, earn a monthly salary, and have all the associated benefits. They just don’t have to be in the office to do their job.
What we mostly see are software engineers, marketing, and customer support professionals. There will be many more jobs and professions that can be done remotely but these are the type of professionals we mostly meet during our travels.
Job boards like FlexJobs and Working Nomads are a great place to start.
2. FREELANCING
Freelancers who work remotely serve their clients with their digital skills.
Think of jobs like Digital Marketing, Copywriting, Programming, Website Developer, App Developer, SEO Specialist, Social Media Marketer, Virtual Assistants, and Customer Support Representative. Since the services they provide are digital they can do their work from anywhere.
You can learn new skills to become a freelancer on websites like Udemy and Youtube. Then find your ideal clients using platforms like Outsourcely and Fiverr.
3. SELL DIGITAL PRODUCTS
Do you have any skills which you think others would like to learn? Could you create an ebook, an online course, or a membership site around this topic?
Digital products are a great way to make passive income and increase the lifetime value of your customers, they might start with your cheapest product but once they get the first-hand experience that your products are worthwhile they are more likely to sign up for other courses, memberships, etc.
You can promote these on your own website as well as on sites like Udemy and Teachable.
Check out Healthy Laura and Carla Biesinger for examples of people selling digital products.
4. AFFILIATE MARKETING
Affiliate marketing is the process of promoting someone else’s product and earning a commission every time you generate a sale.
If you already have a blog or a website, you can partner with brands and businesses in the same niche to promote their products. When you mention a product or service in your content, you’ll make money any time someone buys a product or service through your link.
Is there an app or a tool you love and always recommended to people? You could probably be earning an affiliate income every time you do this!
Have a look at the website of your favorite brands, hotels, etc, or get in touch with them to see if they would be open to an affiliate partnership.
5. SOCIAL MEDIA
If you have a large following you can generate income using affiliate links and sponsored posts.
Companies are willing to pay bloggers and social media influencers often very generously to promote their products and services.
6. YOUTUBE
YouTube is another platform where you can earn money online. There are a ton of YouTube channels out there on any topic you can think of, and most of the people with a big following are earning some money in exchange for their videos and time.
7. PODCAST
Do you know those adverts that pop up at the start and middle of your favorite podcast? Companies pay A LOT of money to have them there! Committing to producing and delivering a podcast is a lot of work but can be very lucrative if it becomes popular.
